  1. Roll call please~Now Younger POF'ers!

I don't think I've added my tale of woe to this section of the board, but it seems like I should. I haven't been officially diagnosed, but it looks like I am POF. I'm 22, no periods for 2+ years, barely any for years before that, and I finally worked up the courage to go to the gyn in April. After a bazillion tests at the student health center and two FSH readings of ~29, they referred me to an RE. He was the one who broke the news that my ovaries are likely failing! Looking back, they've probably been failing since I first got my period at 15-- I only had a regular period for about 3 months. Anyway, I'm having a chromosome test and then, according to the RE, "we'll talk more." I have a feeling I know what we'll be talking about! : The only thing that helps me at this point is that I have no husband/boyfriend, and I don't know if I even want kids-- I'm glad to have some time to get used to the idea of being infertile before I'm at that stage of my life... I also haven't had any meno symptoms as of yet. If they do find a reason, I'll be surprised-- my family history with meno is completely different-- my mom is in perimenopause right now in her mid-50s and has always had regular, extremely heavy periods! Guess I didn't get her genes (and maybe I should be glad about that!!)! Melanie [This message has been edited by x12oclockbluex (edited 06-16-2003).]
  2. Poll: age at POF/Premature Meno/Early Meno

No official diagnosis yet, but it looks like peri. I had regular periods for about 3 months at 15, random ones after that, and nothing for over two years. Never went to the gyn before April, now I know why I was dreading it! I'm 22, high FSH and no other symptoms of EM... waiting for results on a chromosome test...
