  • MEDICAL SEARCH ENGINES

Medline
(also available through a number of other health-related web sites, including Medscape and Healthgate.) Considered one of the top medical sites on the Web; offers article abstracts from a wide range of medical and scientific journals.  The only problem: Since they're abstracts, not full-text articles, you don't always get all the information you'd like.  You can order full-text articles, but this can get costly -- about $25 an article.  Even so, though, the abstracts often contain useful information -- and can help you begin researching premature menopause.

Medscape
Possibly the best source of medical information on line.  Excellent site for finding full-text articles published in medical journals, including articles on premature menopause and/or premature ovarian failure, surgical menopause, HRT, and much more.   One note: since the articles are from medical and scientific journals, they're sometimes extremely technical.  Even so, though, this is a great place to find out about recent studies, promising research,
etc.

EarlyMenopause.com does NOT endorse any one form of treatment. We're all different, and what works for one of us might not work for another. Nor is the site tied commercially to ANY drug or supplement – unlike other sites which, while claiming no sponsorship, do get money for "click-throughs" on ads or orders generated from the site. This is one reason why, other than listing the brand names for HRT, no brand names are (implicitly or explicitly) recommended.

Along these lines, EarlyMenopause.com does not accept advertising of any sort, nor is funded by any company or by a grant (unrestricted or otherwise) from any corporation, but is privately funded by the site owner.
